FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Recall of Brian Shannon is officially a done deal. The Yamhill County
Clerk has announced that the Shannon Recall has submitted more than
enough valid signatures to make the ballot. Shannon will have five days to
submit his written resignation, or face the will of the voters in January.
Also today, on the original Shannon due date, Recall Dave Brown submitted
more than the required number of signatures to the Yamhill County Clerk.
RDB will continue gathering signatures this week and, if necessary, beyond,
to correct any deficiencies found by the county in our first submission.
We urge both Shannon and Brown to resign and end their shameful
destruction of our beloved Newberg Schools. We hope Dave Brown in
particular understands that our extraordinary efforts may have set a record in
the State of Oregon, triggering a recall in just one-third of the allotted time.
If these men choose the ballot, we want them to know that we welcome the
notion that the voters of Newberg and Dundee will, in the end, pass
judgment over the entire affair. Those numbers will not lie. They will live on
indelibly, and our community will have proven to the entire world, finally and
with crystal clarity, who we really are.
The numbers will not lie.
